Stained glass panels are frequently refered to as stainglass or stain glass in USA whereas the Australians refer to them as leadlights or lead lights. Whatevever your preference the beauty of antique glass is plain for all to see. Those beautiful hand made swirls of glass often used as design features are known as either rondels or roundels. I personaly call them rondels. Stained glass generally refers to glass which has been coloured in its manufacture by the addition of metalic salts. Uranium, arsenic and gold are all known to have been used in days gone by.
